We are pleased to announce that Bob Woodruff, ABC News journalist and brain injury survivor, will return as the guest speaker at a dinner to benefit the Traumatic Brain Injury Resource Center on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM.  The event will take place at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Church.  

About Bob Woodruff

On January 29, 2006 while reporting on Iraqi and American security forces, Woodruff was seriously injured by a roadside bomb.  Just 13 months later he returned to ABC to tell the sotry of his painstaking recovery and the plight of service members returning from Iraq and Afghanistan with similar injuries.  He continues to cover critical global issues  as ABC’s primary Asian correspondent.  For his work covering traumatic brain injury survivors, Woodruff received a Peabody Award.  He has received multiple Emmy Awards, the most recent for coverage about the brutal treatment of  the Rohingya ethnic group by the government of Myanmar.  In 2007, with his wife, Lee, he co-authored the New York Times Best Seller, In An Instant, a chronicle of the persevernce of his family through a time of intense trauma and uncertainty.  The couple also founded the Bob Woodruff Foundation to raise money ato assist injured service members, veterans, and their families.

Four Fires Meadery, an internationally-ranked meadery located in Maumee, Ohio who serves award-winning carbonated and still mead with a wide range of flavors in a modern taproom will be providing food and mead pairings for each entree and side at the event.  In addtion, they will be curating additional beer and wine including mead for general consumption.
