Thanks to a generous capital grant from The Andersons Fund Supporting Organization, the Traumatic Brain Injury Resource Center (TBIRC) has upgraded its kitchen and food pantry with a new, larger refrigerator and stainless steel racks. These improvements allow us to store and organize fresh, healthy food safely and efficiently—critical for the individuals we serve.
At TBIRC, we provide nutritious lunches on program days, because proper nutrition is essential for brain health and recovery after traumatic brain injury (TBI). Balanced meals help improve cognitive function, energy levels, and overall well-being—key components of rehabilitation.
Unfortunately, food insecurity is common among brain injury survivors. Medical expenses, therapy costs, and lost income often create financial strain, making it difficult to afford healthy meals. That’s why our disease-specific food pantry is available to survivors and their families, offering access to nutritious options that support healing.
This grant significantly improved the organization of our kitchen and pantry. We are deeply grateful to the Andersons Fund Supporting Organization for making this possible.
