Kelsey Martz, a graduate student in Occupational Therapy at the University of Toledo, recently completed a 1-month capstone project with the Traumatic Brain Injury Resource Center as part of her doctorate program. Martz, who grew up in Delphos, Ohio and completed her undergraduate degree at Northern Illinois University. She chose to enter the field after receiving therapy from an occupational therapist as the result of an injury. She said that her experience at TBIRC increased her understanding of the role that an occupational therapist can a community setting and the importance of keeping an open mind given the varied backgrounds of individuals she encountered.
