At the Traumatic Brain Injury Resource Center, we often say that recovery happens in the everyday moments. It happens when someone learns a new skill, gains confidence, reconnects with their independence, or shares a meal with family and friends. Thanks to the generosity of the Lott-Conlon Foundation, more of those moments will be possible.

We are deeply grateful to the Lott-Conlon Foundation for awarding a grant that funded the purchase of a new commercial stove for our teaching kitchen. This gift represents much more than new equipment. It is an investment in the health, recovery, and quality of life of the individuals and families we serve.

For people living with the effects of a traumatic brain injury, proper nutrition can play a critical role in the recovery process. Healthy foods help fuel the body, support brain health, improve energy levels, and contribute to overall well-being. Yet preparing nutritious meals can be challenging for many survivors who face physical, cognitive, or emotional barriers after injury.

Our teaching kitchen provides a welcoming space where participants can learn practical cooking skills, explore healthy recipes, and build confidence in the kitchen. These hands-on experiences help individuals develop greater independence while creating habits that support long-term health.

The new commercial stove will allow us to better serve our community by enhancing cooking demonstrations, nutrition classes, and adaptive cooking programs. Most importantly, it will help create opportunities for connection, learning, and growth for the people who walk through our doors every day.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Lott-Conlon Foundation for believing in our mission and helping us continue to empower survivors of brain injury and their families. Your generosity will make a lasting difference, one meal, one lesson, and one life at a time.

Together, we are nourishing recovery, fostering independence, and building a stronger community.
